Graphic Design Experts

Full Time • Fully Remote - US
McGarity Consulting Group is a learning and organizational development firm headquartered in Chicago. Our clients include government agencies, regulated industries, and mission-driven organizations that build workforce capability—from instructional design and e-learning to coaching, facilitation, and change management.

We are seeking to add graphic design contractors to our bench in anticipation of increased client demand.

Core design skills (required)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign at an advanced level
  • Visual design basics: layout, typography, color theory, hierarchy and grid systems
  • Building and applying brand guidelines, including working inside a client's style guide
  • Icons, infographics and data visualization that turn technical content into simple visuals
  • Print and digital production: export settings, file prep and version control
eLearning and instructional graphics (required)
  • Graphics for Articulate Storyline: slide backgrounds, character poses, buttons, states and layers
  • Familiarity with Absorb Create and Rise (preferred)
  • Ability to read a storyboard and turn it into finished screens with the instructional designers
  • Visuals for technical and process content, such as equipment diagrams, workflows and annotated photos (useful for the Exxon analyzer-type courses)
  • Basic motion graphics or animation in After Effects or Vyond (preferred)
Accessibility (required)
  • Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA design rules: color contrast, not relying on color alone, readable fonts and alt-text-ready graphics
  • Creating accessible PDFs from InDesign (tagging and reading order), or working with Diana on remediation
  • Designing for screen readers and keyboard navigation in eLearning
Collaboration and process (required)
  • Taking structured feedback from SMEs, clients and the PM, and managing review rounds
  • File organization and naming that fits the team's handoff process
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint and Review 360
  • Working knowledge of Figma or Canva for quick mockups (nice to have)
Proposals and business development exposure (preferred)
  • Layouts for proposals and capability statements, plus RFP response formatting under strict page and font limits
  • Templates for Word and PowerPoint that non-designers can maintain
  • Covers, org charts, process graphics and past-performance one-pagers
  • Working quickly under fixed submission deadlines
Nice to have
  • Experience in federal or government contracting
  • Video editing in Premiere Pro or Camtasia
  • AI image tools such as Firefly, used responsibly and with an eye on licensing
Please include a portfolio that includes eLearning samples or a Storyline project, at least one infographic or technical diagram, a proposal or long-form layout, and evidence of accessible design.

This is a remote position.
